#1 Don’t spend much time on design.

You must not completely focus on the design of your resume because the content is the key. When you send out a couple of your resume without getting any answers, it’s wise to go back to the drawing board and do things differently. Choosing a resume format that works for you is Important. The three types of format commonly used are;

  • Combination
  • Functional or Skills-based
  • Reverse-chronological

However, the most commonly used format is Reverse-chronological. This is because it is easy to use with the layout. However, it’s advisable to avoid using the functional resume format, because it kills your experience section.
