6 Effective Tips To Make Your Website More And More Responsive

by Rupesh Kumar

Your business cannot afford to have a website that is non-responsive. Google also favors websites that are mobile-responsive, and that is why responsive design is here to stay.

You should also get a managed VPS hosting to make your site faster and more reliable. If you are starting your site, the tips for a responsive website will help you design a site that is attractive and responsive.

  • Navigation

The navigation allows your visitors to access other pages on the website site easily and serves as a roadmap. On the desktop versions of your website, your navigation will have visible links to all relevant pages. Meanwhile, on mobile devices, you can use a hamburger icon and hide your links behind it. However, this does not always work as some users may not realize that to reveal the menu, they have to click the icon, and as a result, they will leave frustrated because they cannot visit the other pages. You should leave the necessary menu items that are visible even on smaller screens and use the hamburger menu for rest of the links. You can also facilitate the navigation by including links to other pages in the text on your homepage.

  • Image Size

Images can help you make a connection with your visitors by allowing them to visualize the product that they are interested in buying. It is crucial that you optimize the images for the web. All the photos should be saved in an appropriate format. Reduce the size of the images by using a tool like TinyJPG and use images that are optimized for multiple mobile breakpoints. This reduces scaling and bandwidth issues.

  • Keyboard Triggers In Forms

To improve user experience, the forms on your site should be visible according to the width and size of the screen. Make sure that the input fields trigger the right keyboard. Fields that require text input should trigger a textual keyboard, and the ones that need numbers should trigger the numerical keyboard.

  • Easily Clickable Buttons

Always pay attention to the buttons on your website. It is common to accidentally make your buttons smaller in order to fit on the screen, but this will make them harder to click. Use color to make your buttons stand out and a rectangle or some other shape to represent them.

  • Mobile First Approach

Another way to make your website more responsive is to design a mobile version of your website. This will allow you to see the images, logos, text, and other elements in the way they would look on smaller screens. If these elements display without facing any problems, then you can quickly adapt your design to larger screens.

  • Minimalist Design

No matter what happens, less is always more. The minimalistic design has become quite popular over the last few years. A minimalistic design will eliminate all the clutter on the website, make the visitors focus on the content, and help the website load faster.

In the end, you can even check to see if your site is now responsive by using various online tools that measure the responsiveness of any website.  I hope this article helps you out. Have a wonderful day!
